This statement is in response to recent legislation to provide notice to customers about our privacy policies and practices.
The Benefit Advocates/San Diego Associates is committed to the responsible management, use and protection of your insurance/financial information in our possession. We must collect this information to service our customers and properly administer our business, including our tax reporting obligations to federal authorities as appropriate.
We collect information from you on retirement savings plan applications and health benefit related forms or questionnaires such as employee census data. We will only share the information we collect as permitted by law or to comply with legal or regulatory requirements. An example of such a situation would be to forward the census data to an insurance carrier in order to obtain a bid for a given type of group or individual insurance (i.e. medical coverage).
This Privacy Notice is our commitment to you that we will protect your privacy and that we will uphold the following principles:
§ We will safeguard, according to strict standards of security and confidentiality, any personal information our client customers share with us.
§ We will limit the collection and use of personal information to the minimum we require to meet our contractual and legal obligations for providing insurance/pension plan carriers the information they require to prepare competitive bids or administer their plans, and to transact business as a licensed broker-consultant.
§ We will permit only authorized employees to have access and to handle such information.
§ We will not disclose personal or company information to any external organization except as authorized by law.
§ Whenever we hire other organizations to provide support services such as accounting or tax preparation, we will require them to use the information we provide solely for these purposes as intended.
